.NAME Domains

Introduced in 2001, the .NAME generic domain name extension is the sole TLD planned for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are famous by. At the beginning, solely third-level registrations were possible, so if you desired to register john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already registered third-level domains remained running.

Through our firm, you can order your dot NAME domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to update the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already purchased domain to our firm if you get its EPP transfer code from the current domain service provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific stipulations on who can register a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the objective behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.

The .NAME generic domain extension is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your dot NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the right spelling in your local language.
